East Coast Water Quality — Maintenance Plan Agreement
1. Membership Term & Commitment
- All Maintenance Plans require a minimum 12-month agreement
- Early cancellation requires payment of the remaining balance of the agreement in full
- Memberships are non-transferable
- In the event of a home sale, the agreement may be terminated without penalty only if the new homeowner enrolls in a new Maintenance Plan with East Coast Water Quality
2. System Qualification & Eligibility
- Systems must have received a professional inspection by East Coast Water Quality within the past 90 days
- Reverse osmosis systems must have received annual filter change, sanitization, and service within the same timeframe
- Systems must be in serviceable condition at time of enrollment
- East Coast Water Quality reserves the right to:
- Approve or deny enrollment
- Require service or repairs prior to plan activation
- Pre-existing issues are not covered
3. Systems Over 5 Years Old
- Systems over five (5) years old enrolling in Silver or Gold Memberships are subject to an additional $20 monthly fee (applies to non-original purchasers only)
- Enrollment is contingent upon:
- System condition
- Prior maintenance history
- East Coast Water Quality reserves the right to:
- Approve or deny coverage
- Adjust pricing based on system condition and service risk
Added Protection for Long-Term Systems
As systems age beyond five years, key components may require replacement over time. With added protection, customers can avoid unexpected out-of-pocket labor costs associated with these repairs. Typical replacement costs may include:
- Media replacement: $900 – $1,300
- Control valves & electronics: $500 – $900
4. Maintenance Services
- Bronze Membership includes one (1) annual maintenance visit
- Gold Membership includes four (4) quarterly maintenance visits per year
- Maintenance services include inspection, testing, and system performance evaluation
- Additional service calls outside scheduled visits may incur standard service fees unless otherwise covered
5. Labor Coverage
- Silver and Gold Memberships include 100% FREE labor on repairs for whole home water treatment systems
- Reverse osmosis systems include free labor on warranty-covered repairs only
Labor coverage does NOT include:
- Freezing or temperature-related damage
- Acts of God (storms, flooding, etc.)
- Misuse, neglect, or tampering
- Improper installation not performed by East Coast Water Quality
- Pre-existing conditions
6. Salt Service (Gold Membership Only)
- Includes free salt delivery and installation, up to three (3) bags per scheduled visit
- Additional salt or specialty products may incur additional charges
- Salt provided is standard system salt unless otherwise specified
7. Plumbing Service Discount
- Members receive up to 20% OFF labor on select plumbing services (depending on membership package)
Eligible Services May Include:
- Well pumps
- Pressure tanks
- Tankless water heater cleaning and installation
- Electric Hot Water Heater Flushes
- Pipe and leak repair
- Faucets and sinks
- Whole home plumbing inspections
- Mineralizer Services
- Showers and Toilets
- Sump pumps
- Garbage disposals
- Backflow inspections and repair
- Light commercial / restaurant service
- Boiler pre-treatment services
Limitations:
- Discount applies to labor only
- Materials, equipment, and parts are not included
- Services are limited to the scope listed above
- Customer may be required to provide two written estimates from licensed and insured contractors
Service Discretion
- East Coast Water Quality reserves the right to decline, limit, or refer out plumbing services based on:
- Scope of work
- Project size
- System condition
- Safety concerns
- Or if the work falls outside of our standard service offerings
8. Custom Coverage Addendum
- Additional equipment or specialty systems may be added under a Custom Coverage Addendum for an adjusted monthly fee
- Covered equipment, service frequency, and pricing must be:
- Defined in writing
- Approved prior to activation
- East Coast Water Quality reserves the right to approve, deny, or modify coverage
9. Excluded Equipment
Maintenance Plans do not include*:
- UV light systems
- Standard 10-inch sediment filters
- Custom or specialty filtration systems including:
- Tannin systems
- Neutralizers
- Chemical feed systems
* Unless explicitly added through a Custom Coverage Addendum
10. Billing & Payment
- Maintenance Plans are separate from any equipment financing agreements
- Monthly payments are drafted on either:
- The 12th, or
- The 27th (Customer selects preferred date)
- Payments are required to maintain active membership status
11. Appointments & Access
- Customer must provide safe and reasonable access to equipment during scheduled service window
- Service appointments are scheduled within a 3-hour arrival window
- If service cannot be completed due to*:
- Customer absence
- Inaccessible system
* A $100 return visit fee will apply
12. Customer Responsibilities
- Maintain system in accordance with manufacturer and company recommendations
- Prevent damage from:
- Freezing
- Environmental exposure
- Misuse or neglect
- Ensure system remains accessible for service
13. Company Discretion
East Coast Water Quality reserves the right to:
- Approve or deny membership
- Modify coverage based on system condition
- Adjust pricing for risk, age, or additional equipment
- Refuse service for unsafe or non-compliant conditions
